SLC Physics 8A Services: Fall 2009

The SLC offers services for students in Physics 8A:

Drop-in Tutoring Problem Sessions Study Groups

Study Groups

Due to budget constraints, the SLC will not be offering Study Groups for Physics 8A this Fall.

Instead, please consider attending the Problem Sessions for Physics 8A described below.



Weekly Problem Sessions for Physics 8A

Problem Sessions for Physics 8A are all held on Tuesdays and are 80 minutes long.

In each week's Problem Session, the lecturer will briefly review the new concepts needed to complete that week's homework. Then the bulk of the lecture will be spent going over both calculation and conceptual examples to help students solidify their understanding of the course material.

The three Problem Sessions each week will cover the sme material. You don't have to sign up to attend a Problem Session - just show up!

Drop-in Tutoring for Physics 8A

Tutoring Hours:

Mon, Wed, Th: 9-4
Fri: 9-12

Closed on Tuesdays .

Location: Science Drop-in Tutoring Area on the 2nd floor of the Chávez Student Center.
Start Date: Tutoring starts Tuesday, September 8th.

The SLC provides Drop-in tutoring for all students in Physics 8A. Students can come in and talk to a tutor on a first-come, first served basis. The tutors work with students individually or sometimes in small groups, and can answer questions about lectures, course texts, homework problems, sample exams and labs.

No prior signing up is required for Drop-in tutoring. Just come by! Drop-in tutoring is a great way to meet and work with fellow students as well as to get assistance with your course work.
