Study Strategies | For Continuing Students
After transitioning into Cal, students face further transitions as they select a major, take upper division courses, consider research opportunities, and prepare for graduate or professional school. The following services can help you meet the challenges of these transitions.
Drop-in Academic Advice
Sit down one-to-one with a peer who is trained to listen, share experiences and strategies, give advice, and make referrals on a wide array of issues affecting Cal students like you. Get assistance with:
- Time management, procrastination & goal setting
- Learning and study strategies
- Health, well-being and balance
- Personal and social issues

Individual Appointments
Consult with one of the Study Strategies Program coordinators to enhance your skills and strategies as well as develop a plan of action to achieve academic and personal goals. Come in to get assistance with:

- Referrals to other campus resources

Every semester we offer one-and-a-half-hour, hands-on workshops aimed at enhancing your skills and strategies in a variety of academic areas, including:

This 2 unit seminar assists students in enhancing their learning strategies, sharpening their time management skills, and maintaining health, well-being and balance in their lives even in this stressful environment.
