Course Description
The Craft of Facilitating provides undergraduates an opportunity to learn and practice course design, lesson planning, and classroom facilitation.
Students in Craft of Facilitating will...
- engage in the process of course design.
- learn to write a syllabus and lesson plans.
- learn different ways to promote student engagement and participation.
- practice facilitation skills by preparing and piloting lessons.
- provide and receive honest, supportive, constructive feedback.
The Craft of Facilitating is a semester-long, 2-unit course for Pass/No Pass credit. Students concurrently facilitating a course are eligible to receive an additional unit and take the course for 3 units. The course counts towards the Ed Minor Field Studies requirement and has no prerequisites.
Day, Time, and Location
Craft of Facilitating will be held on Wednesdays from 3 to 5 pm. The first day of class will be held on August 25th in Chavez 201A (on the second floor of the Student Learning Center).
