The SLC Interdisciplinary Resources for Transfer Students (IRTS) Program supports the efforts of Transfer Students taking courses and pursuing majors in a variety of disciplines. IRTS also supports Transfer Students engaged in developing research skills and research projects. The program promotes a community of scholars who work collaboratively to achieve their academic and personal goals.
IRTS is currently looking for Individual Tutors and Study Group Leaders. Tutoring is a terrific way to deepen subject knowledge, meet other students, develop leadership and teaching skills, and prepare for future careers, graduate/professional school. Tutors and Study Group Leaders receive on-going training to develop and hone pedagogical tools and approaches that will guide their work.
Individual Tutors hold open hours for students taking courses in specific disciplines. Fall, 2016 tutors are needed for the following disciplines:
Study Group Leaders facilitate weekly study groups for students attending a particular course. In addition to group meetings, Study Group Leaders hold office hours for their students. Fall, 2016 Study Group Leaders are needed for the following courses:
- MCB 102
- Sociology 5
