SLC Chemistry 1A/1AL Services:
Summer 2017

The SLC offers Study Groups and Drop-in Tutoring this summer.

SLC Study Groups - Description and How to Join


Study Groups meet 2 hours a day, twice each week. In groups, a study group leader coaches the group by reviewing course material, answering questions, working examples to illustrate course concepts, providing worksheets for students to work on together, and helping students develop effective study strategies.

How to Join:

The sign up period for SLC study groups has ended.
Anyone may attend a study group this summer as long as it is not listed as FULL in the schedule below.  If it is FULL, then please check this website in a few days to see if additional spaces have opened up.  Until then, please don't attend the group unless you have attended recently or were placed in it.

Drop-in Tutoring for Chemistry 1A/1AL

SLC Chem 1A/1AL Drop-in Tutoring Hours:

Mon: 10-11, 12-3
Tu: 12-3;
Wed: 10-11, 1-3
Th: 12-3.

Location: The SLC Science Drop-in Tutoring Area on 2nd floor Chavez.
Start Date:: Drop-in tutoring opens on Tuesday, June 20.

The SLC provides Drop-in tutoring for all students in Chem 1A and 1AL. Students can come in and talk to a tutor on a first-come, first served basis. The tutors work with students individually or sometimes in small groups, and can answer questions about lectures, course texts, homework problems, sample exams and labs.


How to Sign Up:

No prior signing-up is required.  Just come to the Atrium of Chavez on the 1st floor during an open hour for your class.  Be sure to sign-in when you arrive and go to the "General Chemistry" tutoring table.

The SLC periodically emails students in each class to update them on changes in what are services and schedules are.  If you would like to receive these emails (no more than 4 emails per semester will be sent), sign up below.
