Founded in 1973, the Student Learning Center is the premier undergraduate academic support unit at UC Berkeley. The Center was established with the intent to provide a space for undergraduates to collaborate, learn, and grow. We view peer collaboration as the touchstone of academic and personal success.
The Student Learning Center has grown to serve almost 10,000 undergraduates annually—nearly 40% of the university’s undergraduate population. Today, we’re recognized for our unique approach to student-centered learning: we employ majority undergraduates to work with and support fellow undergraduates.
With a wider range of classes, programs, and events, the SLC seeks to push the boundaries of traditional learning models, while advancing its mission of undergraduate empowerment. In the name of further fostering academic excellence, we will continue to expand the breadth and depth of our innovative services.
