The SLC is a community of 8000 under-graduates, over 250 tutors and instructors, and 20 professional staff.
Our philosophy: students working with students promotes academic excellence and personal success.

Academics

The primary academic support service for students at Berkeley, the SLC helps students transition to Cal; navigate the academic terrain; create networks of resources; and achieve academic, personal and professional goals.

Leadership

Students hone their leadership skills by joining the SLC: tutors, mentors, and instructors participate in intensive weekly training, network with staff and faculty across campus, and gain pre-professional teaching experience.
