Illustrated green, red, yellow, and black silhouettes with text stating "Celebrating Black History Month"

Each February the Student Learning Center celebrates Black History Month—a time to recognize and honor the rich history, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans.

Envisioned by historian Carter G. Woodson, what began as a weeklong celebration in 1926, grew to a month in 1976.

At the Student Learning Center, we are committed to serving our campus' Black scholars. We invite you to join us in celebrating Black excellence this month and beyond! Explore the resources below to learn more and get involved.
