The SLC wishes you a happy Pride Month!
Pride began as a radical act of resistance, led by Black and Brown trans women and queer folks who rose up against violence, oppression, and invisibility. As we celebrate Pride this year, we honor that legacy and recognize that the fight for liberation continues.
The SLC is dedicated to creating learning environments that welcome and honor the fullness of every student's identity. This Pride Month, we celebrate the brilliance, resilience and joy of queer communities who imagine and build freer futures everyday. We affirm our commitment to ensuring that learners in the LGBTQ+ community feel seen, affirmed, and supported.
Read on below to learn more about the origins of Pride and find ways to engage in celebration and solidarity throughout this month.
In community, resistance, and joy–we celebrate you!
