The SLC Discovery and Language Exchange Programs are thrilled to announce the launch of ourNew Suns short fiction contest! Through this endeavor, we call on you to craft stories that imagine a more just future for all. In the words of legendary writer and thinker Octavia Butler, “There is nothing new / under the sun / but there are new suns.” What new suns can you imagine? In what potential futures might all human beings not only survive but thrive?

Calling all MCB 102 students! The SLC Science Program is hosting a review session this Saturday, 02/27 to support you in preparing for your first exam! Join us on Zoom to connect with classmates, solve practice problems, and identify concepts to further focus your studying. The session will take place from 10AM-12PM (PST) and you can RSVP here. We invite you to join us on Wednesday February 24th from 6pm to 8pm, we will be watching one of the extra credit documentaries for the course, Freedom for the Wolf. During the movie we will be playing a game where you will have the opportunity to win stickers for participation. You will also have the chance to make use of the chat feature throughout the movie to discuss the film in real time with classmates.

The SLC Language Exchange Program is thrilled to announce the launch of our Spring 2021 Conversation Groups! Along with our Language Pods, these Groups are a fantastic way to practice your language skills and connect with fellow language learners.

Taking MCB 102 this semester? The SLC Science Program is thrilled to launch weekly lecture viewing parties! These sessions are facilitated by a peer tutor and provide a space to watch course lecture videos, take notes, and discuss concepts in the company of fellow classmates. This is a great way to stay on top of the material throughout the week and address your questions about the videos in real-time!

Join us every Tuesday from 5-7PM (PDT) to collaborate with classmates and tackle practice problems on our weekly study group worksheets. Greetings, Golden Bears! The SLC Science Program is thrilled to announce that sign-ups are now live for Spring 2021 Chemistry 1A, 3A, and 3B study groups.

Study group provides an intimate learning environment where you’ll connect with peers and collaborate on a weekly basis to master your coursework. With the guidance of an experienced peer facilitator and the support of fellow classmates, you'll hone your problem-solving skills, solidify your understanding of course concepts, and cultivate learning strategies to succeed in the sciences at Cal.
