Services at the Student Learning Center are in full swing for the Fall 2023 semester! Come and see us at the Chávez Student Center, which is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. 

In observance of Labor Day, the Student Learning Center will be closed on Monday, September 4th. This federal holiday, declared by the U.S. Congress in 1894, celebrates the achievements and contributions of workers in America. 

We look forward to seeing you Tuesday, as we fully kick off our services for Fall 2023!

If you can believe it, we have just one more month until the Fall semester and the start of your DeCal facilitation!

At this juncture, many of you may have submitted your DeCal proposals to the Academic Senate and are waiting to hear back about the status of your courses.

The Student Learning Center (SLC) will commemorate Juneteenth. This day acknowledges that over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation went into effect, the declaration of freedom ultimately reached remaining enslaved Black people on June 19, 1865, in Galveston Bay, Texas.

The SLC is making its on-screen debut! This week, a professional film crew will come in to create a promotional video and capture the truly extraordinary moments that happen here. We’ve been gathering props and setting scenes, now all we need is our star talent–you!

The SLC Language Exchange Program is excited to announce their Spring 2023 LEP Excursions(link is external)! LEP's journeys this semester will take us from vibrant gardens to serene shores, from the world of K-Pop to the magic of the stage and the wonders of the page.
