SPEAR Middle School Academy
The SPEAR Middle School Scholar Academy is a six-week summer program at UC Berkeley tailored to support the academic and social development of middle school students entering grades 6-8. SPEAR offers an enriching learning experience and opportunities for scholars to develop self-efficacy, resourcefulness, and problem-solving strategies, while honing their scholarly identity. Those interested in working as Workshop Leaders and Tutors should e-mail a resume and cover letter to Della Drummond.

Summer Bridge facilitates students’ successful transition from high school to university. As part of the program, students take credit-bearing, university courses and adjunct workshops to support their academic development.
Instructors, Discussion Leaders, Tutors and Workshop Leaders are sought in the following areas: Education, Math, Social Sciences, Statistics and Writing.
Summer Sessions at Berkeley attracts students from around the world as well as many continuing UC Berkeley undergraduates, and features both traditional and experimental course offerings. Student Learning Center Tutors and Study Group Leaders work with students individually or in small groups to strengthen students’ understanding of course material and provide them with approaches to working more successfully within their specific discipline/area.
Tutors and/or Study Group Leaders are currently sought for the following areas: Mathematics & Statistics, and Sciences.
